Kristin A. Allan, Esq.
Ms. Allan’s practice focuses on insurance coverage, insurance declaratory actions and coverage litigation. She provides legal opinions, advice and education regarding insurance benefits, coverage, defense and indemnity obligations, in addition to claims handling, suspicious claim investigation and examinations under oath in relation to all varieties of personal and commercial insurance policies. As part of this work, she examines complex insurance policy provisions, definitions, exclusions and limitations; addresses additional insured and indemnification obligations; analyzes risk shifting to other potentially liable parties and insurers; studies and advises on covered versus non-covered damages; provides coverage opinions; prepares reservations of rights and coverage determination letters; works with other insurers to determine time on risk issues; deciphers intricate contracts; and continues to familiarize herself and educate her clients on the ever-changing landscape of Federal and Colorado statutory and case law.
Ms. Allan's experience in defense litigation began while she was still in law school, when she clerked at an insurance litigation firm that included defense of products liability, construction law and premises liability claims. When Ms. Allan joined Tucker & Holmes in 2005, she moved rapidly from Junior to Senior Associate, reflecting her mastery of insurance defense litigation while also working in the firm’s insurance coverage and appellate practices departments and handling defense of insurance bad faith litigation. In 2014, Ms. Allan became a member of Walberg Allan, PLLC. She opened Allan Law, PLLC in 2019.
